FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading is the artistic technique of creating individual hair strokes with a handheld tool called a microblade. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists hand draw each hair to match the color and coarseness of your eyebrows. The result? Gorgeous, natural looking hair strokes that resemble real hair. Best for dry to combo/normal skin.

What is the difference between Microblading and Shading (aka Microshading, Ombré, Powder brows, Combo brows) ?

Shading uses our patented The Brow Guru™️ motorized device, with one or three needles to add a soft, airbrushed and makeup look to your brows that resembles soft makeup once healed.
This is great for oily skin, large pores, tattoo coverups, color corrections, or people who want more of a makeup look.

Which technique looks more natural? Microblading or Shading? Microblading is great for a more soft, and natural look. It resembles “hair” strokes, not makeup so it is the most natural of the two. Once your brows heal you can apply makeup if you like for a special occasion for a more done up look. Oily skin, old tattoos or cover ups and very thin brows may need to do shading or combo brows instead based on their current brow situation. Your artist will suggest what is best for you. Shading or combo brows look more like “makeup” but still is a very soft, airbrushed look.

How long does PMU last?

Microbladed eyebrows last 1 to 2 years after the initial 6-12 week “perfecting session”, before it usually needs a touch up, depending on skin type and lifestyle.
For micro shading, it lasts 2 to 5 years, after the initial perfecting session in 3-6 months.

Does it hurt?

Most clients report little or no pain! We use a topical anesthetic before the procedure to numb the affected area, and apply more during the procedure as well.

What is the price?

$400-$700 based on the artist, and retouches start at 175$. That does not include color corrections, that start at an extra 50$. If you have old tattoo, microblading or shading and color corrections is needed a picture is required in order to evaluate your brows and see if they can be worked on info@primeboudoir.com
